Goa

5 days in Goa

Goa is best for vacation in India. Its chill, relax, beaches, beer, bars, greenery, and holiday.
If you plane for Goa, take minimum of 3 days or plan for 7 days, but 5 days is also good to relax and enjoy.

5 days in goa

Day 1 - Reached goa in morning. Old Goa-Church+museum+streets.

Day 2 - North Goa-fort Aguada  +baga beach

Day 3 - Calungute Beach+ Candolim beach

Day 4 - Spice plantation + boat tours like dolphin watch, backwaters, etc.

Day 5 - Dona paula (morning) + church + lunch + panaJI market + cruise

Others - Casino in PanaJi, Jungle Adventure, House Boat similar to kerala

Also note any beach in itself of Goa is not so nice. Its the shacks, beer, crowd, etc. many things make it nice.

Staying in Goa -
Also note for staying in Goa, there are hundereds of options.
Most entertaining beaches are Baga beach and Calungute beach, which are in North Goa. There are many hotels in North Goa. Any cheap hotel close to beaches is good. There are some nice Taj hotels also in North Goa. But also there are some very crowded markets and places in north goa, staying in such places might spoil vacation.
PanajJI is very close to North Goa and Dona Paula and Old Goa. All with 10 kms. I saw Marriott hotel in Panaji has very strategic location and very convenient. There are some beaches in Panaji like Miramar beach. M.G. Road is also in Panaji. And market in Panaji is very nice. Staying in Panaji like in mariott is aslo very good option.
In Below Map, you can route(total length of around 15 kms) from Dona Paula Sea point to Basilicca Bom Jesus Church in Old Goa, The route goes through PanajI market --

And below map is how to go from Panaji to north goa's famous Fort Aguada -

Also note, famous beaches of Goa like Baga, Calungute, and Anjuna lie more north like in below map -
Baga Beach is around 8 kms from Fort Aguada -

So, one can stay in Panaji and Visit North Goa, Old Goa. Its very common to rent a car or bike in Goa.
OR, one can stay in North Goa and come to Panaji.

Other option to stay is to stay in South Goa. South Goa beaches are very nice, may be nicer than North Goa beaches, and many resorts are in South Goa, quite far from North goa. Resorts like leela, holiday Inn, Taj Exotica, Park Hyatt, etc are in south goa. Distance from Panaji to Leela is 50 km.

Like in below map A-Panaji, B - Park Hyatt, C- Taj Exotica, D-Leela

Staying a luxury resort with private beach is your choice, but goa is a place where you can cancel luxury resort and stay in budget resort, since beaches not so amazing. And you have to baga beach or Calungute beach to see Goa.

Old Goa - Se Cathedral - church, architectural building, museum. Visit to know about Goa and its history.

Old Goa - Basilica Bom Jesus - Architectural Building, Church, 400+ years old, final resting place of St. Francis Xavier and also has remains of St. Francis, UNESCO world heritage site,

Dona Paula - in Panaji - Sea point - good place for visit in morning or evening - small market of clothes - water sports - sea shore - close to this point are sea beaches, hotels, residential places, Panjim and Miramar.
Dona Paula - Sea point - walk up the stairs for this view and also sunset - Also in picture is a hotel "O Prescador"

Beaches of Goa - Below is Candolim beach - less crowded, but less no. of shops

Below is  Anjuna Beach - rocks also on beaches - so some say rocky beach
